Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Principal AI Infrastructure Engineer to lead the AI Center of Excellence. The role focuses on building and scaling high-performance infrastructure across compute, storage, networking, and accelerators to support enterprise AI workloads.

You will drive the AI infrastructure roadmap, act as product owner, and collaborate with data science, MLOps, and platform teams to ensure scalable, secure, and compliant solutions across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related engineering field.
• Experience in large scale infrastructure, platform engineering, or systems architecture in a complex enterprise.
• Proven experience owning infrastructure roadmaps and driving delivery in on premise or private cloud environments.
• Familiarity with Generative AI and Agentic AI architectures, including their infrastructure, networking, and latency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI infrastructure roadmap for Mastercard's on premise private cloud, spanning strategy, design, procurement, delivery, installation, and lifecycle management.
• Act as a product owner for AI infrastructure, translating business and data science needs into scalable platform capabilities for ML and AI workloads.
• Lead RFIs/RFPs for AI infrastructure components, defining evaluation criteria and driving vendor selection with stakeholders.
• Architect and scale infrastructure capable of training large scale models and providing low latency inference across global workloads.
• Collaborate with data science, MLOps, and security teams to align infrastructure with model development, deployment, observability, and responsible AI.
