Job summary

Serko is seeking a Principal Engineer to own the technical vision for the AI Platform & Operations. This remote role can be based in Washington or California, with the aim of building scalable internal platforms for AI product teams.

You will mentor senior engineers, set benchmarks, optimize GPU/compute usage, and drive reliability while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact AI solutions.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of engineering experience, incl. 4+ years at Principal or Distinguished level.
• Expert in ML infrastructure, model serving and Kubernetes with cloud experience.
• Proficient with MLflow, Weights & Biases or Kubeflow.
• Strong Python coding and systems-thinking with Docker/Helm.

Responsibilities

• Architect the long-term technical roadmap for the AI platform, including model serving and CI/CD for ML.
• Set benchmarking standards for deployment, versioning, A/B tests, and automated rollbacks.
• Lead strategies for GPU/compute efficiency and cost optimization at scale.
• Design observability and monitoring for AI workloads in production.
• Drive platform reliability and mentor senior engineers.
