Job summary

Serko is seeking a Principal Engineer to own the technical vision for our AI Platform & Operations. This role focuses on building scalable, reliable infrastructure powering AI product teams across the company.

You will lead architectural decisions and mentor engineers in a fast-growing, global setting, with a remote-friendly model based in the US. We value deep ML infra expertise, strong Python and systems skills, and the ability to drive cost-efficient, high-performance ML workflows at scale.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of engineering experience, with at least 4 years at a Principal or Distinguished level.
• Expert-level knowledge of ML infrastructure, model serving, and distributed systems.
• Proficient with Kubernetes and major cloud ecosystems (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Experience with MLOps tools (MLflow, Weights & Biases, Kubeflow).
• Strong Python development and systems thinking, Docker/Helm/containerization.

Responsibilities

• Architect the long-term technical roadmap for Serko's AI platform, including model serving and feature stores.
• Set engineering benchmarks for deployment, versioning, A/B testing, and automated rollbacks.
• Lead GPU/compute efficiency and cost optimization for large-scale LLM inference.
• Design observability, monitoring, and alerting for AI workloads in production.
• Drive platform reliability and partner with product teams to meet evolving needs.
• Mentor senior engineers, lead architecture reviews, evaluate cloud services and ML frameworks.
