Job summary

Serko is seeking a Principal Engineer to design and-scale autonomous AI agentic systems. You will define the technical vision, own end-to-end architecture, and mentor senior engineers across our Washington/California footprint.

You’ll collaborate with Product, Research, and Platform teams to ship reliable, high-availability runtimes, optimize observability, and drive best practices in an AI-first engineering culture.

Qualifications

• 12+ years software engineering experience.
• 4+ years in technical leadership or principal roles.
• Shipping LLM-powered or agentic systems to production.
• Mastery of Python and modern backend frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Architect end-to-end agentic runtime.
• Ensure reliability with latency targets and observability.
• Define engineering patterns, standards, and best practices.
• Mentor senior engineers and lead deep-dive architecture reviews.
• Collaborate with AI Ops to ensure scalable workloads.
