Job summary

Eaton’s Corporate Information Technology team seeks a Principal AI Data Engineer to support the global Data office from one of several US hubs, including Beachwood, OH. Travel 10–20% and local commutable relocation is noted.

Salary range is $146,000–$215,000 with a variable incentive program. The role leads governance architecture turning into production capabilities for data quality, observability, metadata, lineage, and AI agents, reporting to the Senior Manager - Data Governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on data governance experience with production data quality, metadata, lineage and pipeline capabilities on cloud data platforms, including AI/agent-based solutions.
• Eaton will not sponsor immigration for this position.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate the enterprise data quality capability on Enterprise Data Health with DGO rules and data quality scorecards.
• Develop full-stack data observability with alerting and ticketing linked to the data quality framework.
• Design, build, evaluate and operate the Data Governance AI agents as product owner for the agent estate.
• Own all connections within the enterprise data catalog (Atlan) and manage governance schemas in Snowflake.
• Stand up and assure cross-system data lineage for all strategic platforms.
• Engineer and run the AI-readiness certification pipeline for agent-consumable data products.
