Job summary

Stored Energy Systems (SENS) in Longmont, CO, seeks a Principal AI & Business Process Automation Engineer to lead AI-enabled automation initiatives across operations, engineering, sales, and finance. The role focuses on designing, developing, and deploying scalable automation solutions that reduce manual work and improve decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT, CS, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years in software development, business systems, process automation, or related technical work.
• Experience documenting, designing, developing, and implementing automated business processes.
• Practical AI and generative AI experience applied to business/technical solutions.
• Experience with enterprise systems, APIs, workflow automation, cloud services, or related integration tech.

Responsibilities

• Partner with internal clients across Operations, Engineering, Sales, Customer Service, Finance, HR, and others to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Deliver end-to-end automation and innovation projects—discovery, design, development, testing, deployment, support, and continuous improvement.
• Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, and design solutions to improve performance and scalability.
• Establish and improve secure enterprise AI and LLM capabilities, including private/on-premises deployments.
• Design AI-enabled solutions (agents, knowledge systems, intelligent workflows, and integrations) using internal data with proper security controls.
• Evaluate emerging AI/automation technologies and recommend tools, standards, and architectural changes; support ongoing enhancements.
