Job summary

Palo Alto Networks, Inc. is seeking a dynamic Staff AI Software Engineer to lead design and delivery of scalable AI-native services.

You will leverage Python, Django, FastAPI, React, and GraphQL on Google Cloud Platform to evolve core architecture and drive AI adoption across the enterprise. Qualifications

• Minimum 9 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent military experience.
• 9+ years of backend development with Python, using Django or FastAPI to design fault-tolerant microservices.
• Proven track record of architecting, deploying and scaling production-grade Generative AI and LLM-powered apps.
• Hands-on experience with LLM orchestration and agentic frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, or native cloud Agent SDKs).
• Deep expertise in RAG architectures, vector embeddings, semantic search, and vector databases.
• Experience implementing LLM guardrails and prompt injection defenses and AI evaluation workflows.
• Frontend development experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
• Expert-level experience with Docker and Kubernetes (GKE).

Responsibilities

• Drive strategic architectural vision and deployment of scalable software assets using Python and React.
• Architect and govern agentic systems with LangChain/LangGraph and A2A protocols for interoperability.
• Establish AI evaluation frameworks and pipelines to measure performance, latency, and cost.
• Define data retrieval pipelines with vector embeddings and semantic search.
• Establish enterprise-wide prompt engineering standards and LLM security practices.
• Scale MCP servers to bridge IT data with LLM-driven apps across units.
• Collaborate with executives, product management, and cross-functional teams to align AI initiatives.
• Mentor technical leaders and engineers in full-stack and AI domains.
• Take accountability for cross-team outcomes, ensuring enterprise-grade security and quality.
