Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Principal or Senior Principal Engineer in Aeronautical - Aircraft Ground and Flight Test, onsite in Melbourne, FL. Responsibilities include test planning, real-time data monitoring, post-flight analysis, and reporting, with leadership within the Flight Test Team.

Qualifications require STEM degree with 5+ years (Principal) or 8 years (Senior Principal) of related experience, plus ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of related experience OR a Master’s degree with 3+ years OR a PhD with 1+ year of related experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain final adjudicated DoD Secret clearance (in-scope or Continuous Evaluation)
• Experience in test planning, execution, flight operations, and generating test artifacts and reports
• Experience generating technical documents and using MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint, MATLAB, and programming languages

Responsibilities

• Assist in development of test plans/test cards
• Participate in pre- and post-flight briefs/debriefs
• Monitor real-time flights and support senior engineers to ensure safe testing within parameters
• Lead test missions as test conductor and coordinate with scheduling, maintenance, and telemetry
• Support post-flight data processing and reporting for mission objectives
• Generate data releases and reports for Company and Customer engineering
