Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Principal / Senior Principal Engineer Aeronautical - Aircraft Ground and Flight Test to join our Test and Evaluation team. This role focuses on flight test planning, real-time data monitoring, post-flight analysis, and coordinating test missions with engineers, schedulers, and telemetry support.

The position requires a STEM degree and relevant experience, plus an active clearance or eligibility.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline AND 5 years of related professional/military experience OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 3 years of related professional/military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 1 year of related professional/military experience
• Ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance (DoD must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation)
• Experience that includes test planning, execution, flight operations, and/or generating test artifacts (e.g. detailed test plans, test cards, etc.) and reports
• Experience generating technical documents and working with MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, MATLAB, and other programming languages

Responsibilities

• Assist in development of test plans/test cards
• Participate in pre- and post-flight briefs/debriefs
• Monitor flights in a real-time environment and support senior engineers to ensure safe testing within limits
• Plan and conduct test missions as an approved test conductor and lead the test team
• Provide support for post flight data processing and analysis
• Generate data releases and reports for Company and Customer engineering
