Job summary

Summit Utilities, Inc. is seeking a Principal Accountant (SGL17) to lead the Shared Services and Operations Accounting team. This role focuses on journal entries, reconciliations, research, and month-end close for service and utility entities as applicable.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of accounting, utility experience preferred, a BA in accounting, CPA or CPA candidate, and strong GAAP, leadership and communication skills to support audits and regulatory filings and system enhancements.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Analytical capability to model regulatory and financial outcomes.
• Leadership and communication skills to guide accounting teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead journal entries review and month-end close for service and utility entities.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations monthly, quarterly, and annually.
• Support audits and regulatory filings with FP&A, Regulatory, and Operations teams.
• Coordinate with various departments to resolve financial issues and system enhancements.
