Job summary

Summit Utilities, Inc. is seeking a Principal Accountant (SGL17) to lead our Shared Services & Operations Accounting team. You will review journal entries and reconciliations, support month-end close, and assist with audits and regulatory filings.

You will collaborate across FP&A, Regulatory, Operations and Engineering to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls in a multi-state environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of accounting experience.
• Minimum 3 years in a regulated utility preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; CPA preferred.
• Advanced degree preferred; CPA candidacy welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Shared Services & Operations Accounting team guidance and training.
• Review and approve journal entries and reconciliations.
• Research and apply GAAP; support month-end close and reporting.
• Assist with audits and regulatory filings as needed.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Regulatory, Operations and others to resolve issues.
