Job summary

The Oregon National Primate Center (ONPRC) is seeking a Clinical Veterinarian to provide medical care for a large nonhuman primate colony. You will participate in health surveillance, preventive medicine programs, and regulatory compliance for NIH/OLAW/USDA standards, while collaborating with investigators and technicians.

Responsibilities include on-call coverage, weekend/offsite duties, and ongoing professional development within a dynamic primate research environment at ONPRC in Beaverton,

Qualifications

• D.V.M./V.M.D. degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
• 1 year hands-on veterinary experience, including 6 months in a clinical position.
• Licensed in the US to practice veterinary medicine and valid driver's license.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and interpersonal communication with investigators and staff.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects.
• Ability to safely handle animals and document medical records.

Responsibilities

• Provide veterinary care for all nonhuman primates on campus.
• Manage health surveillance and preventive medicine programs, medical protocol development, and compliance with NIH, OLAW, USDA, and welfare regulations.
• Participate in on-call rotation and occasional weekend or offsite duties.
• Engage in ongoing educational opportunities for peers, staff, primate consortium personnel, and the laboratory animal community.
