Job summary

Oregon National Primate Research Center (ONPRC) seeks a Veterinary Research/Health Technician 1 to support research and animal health care for nonhuman primates. Role includes phlebotomy, clinical care, and daily husbandry under supervision.

Training schedule is 7:30am-4:00pm; normal shifts may include evenings. We offer full-time employment with union representation and competitive starting pay based on experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Six months experience providing paid or voluntary care for animals.
• Valid Driver's License and ability to drive DCM/ONPRC vehicles on/off campus as required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in providing research support, clinical health care, and husbandry for nonhuman primates.
• Evaluates new and ongoing clinical cases and provides basic treatments under guidelines.
• Cleans and sanitizes animal care areas and maintains sterile surgical supplies.
