Job summary

Connex Education Partnership is seeking a confident Primary Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a primary school setting. The role focuses on assisting with lessons, small-group support, and creating a positive learning environment.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ months in a school or 6+ months in care, strong communication, and a proactive team mindset, with the DBS check as a recruitment prerequisite. Competitive weekly pay and CPD opportunities offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 months’ experience in a school setting or 6 months’ experience in a care setting.
• Experience working with children or young people in an educational environment.
• Patient, enthusiastic, reliable, and committed to pupil development.
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
• Ability to adapt to different pupils and classroom environments.
• Proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Supporting teachers in delivering engaging, effective, and inclusive lessons.
• Providing one-to-one and small-group support to pupils to help develop their learning and understanding.
• Helping to create a positive, safe, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Supporting pupils with additional learning needs and behavioural challenges where required.
• Encouraging pupil participation, confidence, independence, and academic progress.
• Assisting with classroom activities and the preparation of learning resources.
• Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining a supportive learning atmosphere.
• Working collaboratively with teachers and school staff to meet pupils’ individual needs.
