Job summary

Kenaitze Indian Tribe's Dena'ina Wellness Center is seeking a Central Scheduler to manage appointment scheduling across clinical services in Primary Care and to answer incoming calls.

The role requires maintaining accurate demographic and insurance information, directing calls to the right staff, and documenting encounters in the EHR. It is a full-time, non-exempt position with emphasis on compliance with HIPAA and tribal policies.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a medical office setting as a Registration Technician or Scheduler.
• Two years of experience in insurance verification and medical terminology.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments for all clinical services within the Primary Care Department.
• Reschedule appointments as directed by supervisor.
• Verify and update demographic information (name, address, phone, insurance) when scheduling.
• Answer all incoming calls promptly and route calls to the appropriate staff.
• Document all encounters in the EHR and route to the appropriate staff.
• Complete reminder phone calls the business day prior to scheduled appointments.
• Ensure compliance with Tribal, federal, state, and local employment laws and policies, including TERO ordinance.
