Job summary

The Kenaitze Indian Tribe seeks a Registration Technician I for the Dena'ina Wellness Center to support accurate patient check-in, verify demographics and insurance, and ensure required forms are completed in the EHR. The role includes handling incoming calls and scheduling, with attention to detail and compliance with tribal and federal policies.

Ideal candidates have at least two years in a medical office setting, strong customer service skills, and a basic understanding of HIPAA requirements;

Qualifications

• Two (2) years' experience in a medical office setting as a Registration Technician or Scheduler with experience in insurance verification.
• Years of experience in customer service.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Greeting un'ina, verifying their identity, and completing the check-in process
• Verify demographic information and update forms as needed
• Scan photo ID, insurance cards, and other documentation into the EHR
• Complete pre-registration prior to un'ina appointment
• Verify insurance coverage and attach to encounter
• Document all encounters in the EHR
• Schedule patient appointments
• Ensure compliance with Tribal, federal, state, and local employment laws and Tribal policies and TERO ordinance
