Job summary

OptumCare is seeking physicians for an outpatient-based practice in California. The role focuses on delivering comprehensive, coordinated care to adults and seniors, with a mix of preventive services, chronic disease management, wellness visits, and follow-up care.

The workweek is Monday–Friday with generous support from dedicated nurses and medical assistants, enabling meaningful patient interactions and strong patient relationships.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine completed or in progress.
• Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine, or Board Eligible for residents.
• Active and unrestricted California Medical License or ability to obtain prior to start.
• Current California DEA certificate or ability to obtain prior to start.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain prior to start.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient-only setting.
• Care for patients across the lifespan, with a primarily adult and senior population.
• Blend of preventive care, chronic disease management, wellness visits, and follow-up care.
• Average of 18-20 patients per day.
• Schedule designed to support meaningful patient interactions.

Required Qualifications:

• Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic (D.O.)
• Completion of an accredited residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
• Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine, or Board Eligible for medical residents
• Active and unrestricted California Medical License or ability to obtain prior to start
• Current California DEA certificate or ability to obtain prior to start
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain prior to start

For California Residents Only: The salary range for California residents is $260,000-$360,000 per year. Salary Range is defined as total cash compensation at target. The actual range and pay mix of base and bonus is variable based upon experience and metric achievement.
