Job summary

ProHealth Physicians, part of the Optum family and UnitedHealth Group, seeks a Medical Assistant to support the Care team in New London, CT. You will handle patient intake, phlebotomy, and clinical/documentation tasks within Connecticut scope of practice.

Responsibilities include patient care, coordinating tests, and managing communications with patients and providers to ensure timely follow-up. Flexible, full-time schedule; strong teamwork and patient-centered care are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Accredited Medical Assistant program or completed relevant medical assisting training
• 2+ years of aide or tech level work experience in healthcare or Armed Forces medical training
• Certified / Registered Medical Assistant from AAMA, NHA, NCCT, or AMT (preferred)
• CPR/BLS Certification (preferred)
• Experience with Epic (preferred)
• Experience in a primary care office (preferred)
• Intermediate computer proficiency (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care, clinical summary and direction on next steps or follow up
• Perform phlebotomy for patients as needed
• Assist care team by collecting and recording clinical information per protocol
• Schedule tests, treatments and follow ups; assist patients with resources
• Document patient interactions accurately in the EHR; maintain confidentiality
• Answer and route patient calls using the EHR; manage referrals and tasks
