Job summary

Hire Up Staffing Services is seeking an experienced Back Office Medical Assistant for a well-established Fresno healthcare organization. The role provides hands-on clinical support in a busy Primary Care setting, collaborating with physicians, clinical staff, and patients.

Qualified candidates have prior Back Office MA experience in Primary Care (Family/Internal Medicine preferred). Completion of a Medical Assistant program is required and strong EMR skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Back Office Medical Assistant experience required.
• Experience in Primary Care, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent qualifying experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and standard clinical procedures.
• Strong computer skills and experience with electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and prepare them for examinations and procedures.
• Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, medications, and other patient information.
• Assist physicians and clinical staff with patient care and in-office procedures.
• Prepare exam rooms and ensure supplies and equipment are available.
• Perform injections and immunizations within MA scope of practice.
• Assist with medication refills, prescription requests, and physician orders.
• Support referrals, authorizations, laboratory orders, and follow-up care as needed.
• Communicate with patients regarding appointments, instructions, and follow-up needs.
• Document patient information accurately in the EMR while maintaining confidentiality.
