Job summary

Family Health Care Centers of Greater Los Angeles in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Medical Assistant to support providers and patients in the Back Office. You will assist with patient flow, chart management, vital signs, injections, specimen collection, and basic lab tasks.

Youll work across pediatrics, women’s health, and general medicine, maintain HIPAA compliance, and help coordinate care with NextGen EHR, scheduling, and customer service excellence.

Qualifications

• Certificate, required.
• Current CPR Certification required.
• FQHC experience highly preferred.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish; familiarity with Hispanic culture is beneficial.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in NextGen (EHR/PMS) and MS Office.
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
• Willingness to travel.
• Customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Participates with medical/Interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient flow and chart management.
• Maintain a Positive, self-motivated attitude at all times.
• Performs point of care glucose testing and spot hemoglobin; documents results in the EHR.
• Assist with obtaining authorizations for services; collate required medical justification.
• Escort patients through clinic areas to ensure smooth flow and timely care.
• Review healthcare questionnaires for completeness and accuracy.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and proper handling of patient information.
• Schedule ordered tests and communicate results to providers.
