Doorways in Arlington, VA is seeking a part-time Client Assistant to provide direct services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence. The role includes shelter coverage, crisis intervention, and case management for residents of the Safehouse and scattered-site programs.

The position requires on-site work, on-call availability, and reporting to the Shelter Manager. A Bachelor’s in social work or related field is preferred; 2+ years in relevant work is expected, with trauma-informed practice

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field; MSW preferred.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in domestic and sexual violence or a residential setting.
• Thorough knowledge of trauma-informed practice and applying it to human services.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Must be located in the DMV; access to a reliable vehicle.

Responsabilidades

• Provide primary shelter coverage and secondary hotline coverage.
• Ensure client confidentiality and safety.
• Support crisis intervention and safety planning for shelter residents.
• Complete intake and documentation per policy and procedures.
• Coordinate with Shelter Manager and other staff.
• Maintain daily logs and report concerns to management.
