Job summary

Bankruptcy & Creditors' Rights Practice Group seeks an Associate Attorney in Seattle, WA. The firm handles complex restructuring, insolvency, and bankruptcy matters for lenders, creditors, landlords, and debtors, across litigation and transactional work.

Qualified candidates hold a JD from a top-tier law school, with 4–8 years’ experience in bankruptcy proceedings, restructuring, and creditors' rights litigation, including Chapter 11/15/9. Bar admission in WA is required or eligible to waive in.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in Washington, in good standing (or eligible to waive into Washington).
• 4–8 years of substantive experience in bankruptcy proceedings, restructuring, creditors' rights litigation, or insolvency-related matters.
• Experience handling loan workouts, loan enforcement actions, receiverships, foreclosures, and related insolvency litigation.
• Bankruptcy & Restructuring expertise with debtor and creditor representations in Chapter 11, Chapter 15 and Chapter 9 municipal insolvency cases.

Responsibilities

• Represent lenders, creditors, landlords, debtors, and stakeholders in bankruptcy, restructuring, and insolvency matters.
• Handle loan workout negotiations, restructuring transactions, and distressed asset matters.
• Manage creditors' rights litigation, including loan enforcement actions, receiverships, and foreclosure proceedings.
• Draft and negotiate workout agreements, restructuring documents, pleadings, motions, and related filings.
• Advise clients on insolvency, restructuring, bankruptcy, and risk management strategies.
• Represent clients in corporate restructurings and bankruptcy litigation, including Chapter 15, 11, and 9 proceedings.
• Provide strategic guidance to creditors and debtors in complex insolvency cases.
• Assist with acquisitions of distressed assets and corporate workouts, both in and out of court.
• Draft pleadings, prepare discovery, and manage motion practice in high-stakes litigation.
• Collaborate with partners and clients in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.
