Job summary

The AmLaw 100 Firm in Seattle seeks an Associate Attorney for its Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Litigation Practice Group. The role involves representing lenders, creditors, landlords, and debtors in both litigation and transactional restructuring matters.

Ideal candidates have a JD from a top-tier law school, active Washington bar admission (or eligibility to waive), and 4–8 years of relevant experience in bankruptcy, restructuring, or insolvency-related work.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in Washington (or eligible to waive into Washington); admission in Oregon and/or California is a plus.
• 4-8 years of substantive experience in bankruptcy proceedings, restructuring, creditors' rights litigation, or insolvency-related matters.

Responsibilities

• Represent lenders, creditors, landlords, debtors, and stakeholders in bankruptcy, restructuring, and insolvency matters.
• Handle loan workout negotiations, restructuring transactions, and distressed asset matters.
• Manage creditors' rights litigation, including loan enforcement actions, receiverships, and foreclosure proceedings.
• Draft and negotiate workout agreements, restructuring documents, pleadings, motions, and related filings.
• Advise clients on insolvency, restructuring, bankruptcy, and risk management strategies.
• Represent clients in corporate restructurings and bankruptcy litigation, including Chapter 11, 15, and 9 proceedings.
• Provide strategic guidance to creditors and debtors in complex insolvency cases.
• Assist with acquisitions of distressed assets and corporate workouts, both in and out of court.
• Draft pleadings, prepare discovery, and manage motion practice in high-stakes litigation.
• Collaborate with partners and clients in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.
