Job summary

A prestigious AmLaw 100 firm in Seattle, WA seeks an Associate Attorney for its Bankruptcy & Creditors’ Rights Litigation Practice Group. You will represent lenders, creditors, landlords, and debtors in complex restructuring, insolvency, and bankruptcy matters, with exposure to both litigation and transactional work.

The ideal candidate has a JD from a top-tier law school, Washington bar admission, 4–8 years of relevant experience, and excellent writing, research, and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record
• Active Bar Admission in Washington in good standing (or eligible to waive into Washington)
• 4-8 years of substantive experience in bankruptcy proceedings, restructuring, creditors' rights litigation, or insolvency matters
• Experience handling loan workouts, loan enforcement actions, receiverships, foreclosures, and related insolvency litigation
• Bankruptcy & Restructuring expertise with debtor/creditor representations in Chapter 11, 15, 9
• Litigation skills in drafting, discovery, motions, and court appearances for bankruptcy-related disputes
• Transactional background in distressed asset acquisitions and out-of-court restructurings a plus
• Soft skills: writing, research, interpersonal skills; attention to detail; sound judgment
• Ability to manage multiple complex matters with strong client service

Responsibilities

• Represent lenders, creditors, landlords, debtors, and stakeholders in bankruptcy, restructuring, and insolvency matters
• Handle loan workout negotiations, restructuring transactions, and distressed asset matters
• Manage creditors' rights litigation, including loan enforcement actions and foreclosures
• Draft and negotiate workout agreements, restructuring documents, pleadings, motions, and related filings
• Advise clients on insolvency, restructuring, bankruptcy, and risk management strategies
• Represent clients in corporate restructurings and bankruptcy litigation, including Chapter 11, 15, 9
• Assist with acquisitions of distressed assets and corporate workouts, both in and out of court
• Draft pleadings, prepare discovery, and manage motion practice in high-stakes litigation
• Collaborate with partners and clients in a fast-paced, team-driven environment
