Job summary

AmLaw 100 Firm in Seattle seeks an Associate Attorney for its Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Litigation Practice Group. The role involves representing lenders, creditors, landlords and debtors in complex restructurings, insolvency matters, and bankruptcy proceedings.

The ideal candidate has a JD from a top-tier law school, active WA Bar admission, 4–8 years of relevant experience, and strong writing and litigation skills.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record.
• Active Washington Bar Admission in good standing (or eligible to waive into WA).
• 4–8 years of experience in bankruptcy proceedings, restructuring, creditors' rights litigation, or insolvency matters.
• Experience with loan workouts, loan enforcement actions, receiverships, foreclosures.
• Bankruptcy & Restructuring expertise in Chapter 11, Chapter 15 and Chapter 9 municipal insolvencies.
• Litigation skills: drafting, discovery, motions, and court appearances.
• Transactional background in distressed asset acquisitions and out-of-court restructurings.
• Strong writing, research, interpersonal skills; attention to detail; good judgment.
• Ability to manage multiple complex matters with excellent client service.

Responsibilities

• Represent lenders, creditors, landlords, debtors in bankruptcy and insolvency matters.
• Handle loan workout negotiations and distressed asset matters.
• Manage creditors' rights litigation including enforcement actions and foreclosures.
• Draft pleadings, prepare discovery, and advance motions.
• Advise on insolvency, restructuring and risk management strategies.
• Assist with acquisitions of distressed assets and corporate workouts.
• Collaborate with partners and clients in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.
