Job summary

Knape & Vogt Manufacturing Company in Grand Rapids is seeking a Press Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role you will operate precision slide/multi-slide or four-slide presses, starting, stopping, feeding material and monitoring production to ensure quality output.

The position offers first shift hours (7:00am-3:00pm) with OT opportunities and competitive pay of $19.00 per hour plus benefits, 11 holidays and 401(k) with company match.

Qualifications

• Experience operating presses (1st shift) and performing basic machine setups.
• Ability to read blueprints and inspect parts for conformance.
• Mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Basic reading, writing, math skills and proficient in English.

Responsibilities

• Operate precision presses safely and consistently (start/stop, feed material, monitor production).
• Assist with tooling changes, material changes, adjustments, and machine setups.
• Identify defects such as dimensional variation, burrs, or nonconforming parts.
• Monitor cycle performance, scrap, downtime, and quality during runs.

What Will You Get To Do:
