Job Description Summary

Fort Wayne Manufacturing Facility (FWMF) is hiring for a Forging Press Operator. FWMF specializes in precision differential gears and assemblies to support a variety of American Axle and Manufacturing, Inc. (AAM) customers and programs. FWMF uses AccuGear designing, testing, advanced-process forging and precision finishing to custom manufacture gears and other net-shaped components to meet customers' exact specifications.

Job Description

As a Forging Press Operator you will be required to maintain the following key elements:

  • Perform proper inspection of parts
  • Maintain data and production accuracy
  • Responsible for press readiness (Including but not limited to oil and lube levels, inspect tooling and transfer hardware
  • Use of calipers, indicators and other basic measuring tools
  • Use of hand/power tools
  • Installation/adjustments on die sets
  • All other job duties as assigned

Required Skills and Education

  • HS Diploma/GED
  • Mechanical Aptitude
  • Working effectively with others
  • Ability to keep a safe and clean work environment
  • Troubleshooting capabilities
