Job summary

Thomson Reuters in the United States is seeking an Operations Supervisor for 2nd and 3rd shifts to lead a production team in the Press operations department. You will direct daily activities, drive lean improvements, and partner with cross-functional teams to implement new technologies and processes, ensuring safety and quality.

You will supervise, coach, and evaluate staff, participate in hiring decisions, and support continuous improvement across the organization in a fast-paced manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and 3–5 years of related manufacturing experience including supervisory responsibilities.
• Proven supervisory skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated project management capabilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems and SAP preferred.
• Experience with lean manufacturing techniques or fulfillment operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily activities to achieve production targets.
• Identify and resolve complex technical issues.
• Lead and participate in continuous improvement and lean initiatives.
• Identify process waste and apply lean principles to reduce it.
• Execute leader standard work: gemba walks, tier-board facilitation, CI meetings.
• Collaborate across departments to install new technology, equipment, and processes.
• Supervise a team with coaching and clear communication.
• Conduct performance evaluations and contribute to compensation decisions.
• Make recommendations related to hiring, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
• Model and reinforce a strong safety culture.
• Conduct safety audits and incident investigations.
