Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to inspect, install, repair, and rebuild production machinery and tools in our Kansas City plant. You will document downtime in Plex, troubleshoot electrical issues, and read mechanical prints to diagnose problems.

The role requires formal education plus hands-on machine repair experience, with licenses for forklift and scissor lift. Expect a 5:00 AM–5:00 PM shift, Friday–Sunday, with potential overtime to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of Machine Repair experience.
• Pneumatics and Hydraulics experience.
• Basic understanding of press controls and processes.
• Experience with milling machines, drill presses, and lathes.
• Valid forklift and scissors lift licenses are required.

Responsibilities

• Follow maintenance and repair procedures to install, maintain, and repair production machinery and tools.
• Document downtime codes in Plex system.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues with a meter (Level I certification).
• Read and interpret mechanical prints for troubleshooting.
• Perform preventative maintenance and contribute to maintenance schedules.
• Operate and use equipment safely including forklifts, grinders, lathes, and milling machines.
