Job summary

Norsk Hydro is seeking a dedicated individual to operate extrusion equipment in Gainesville, GA. You will manage the press, monitor the furnace, shear, and cooling processes, and uphold safety and quality standards on a 12‑hour night schedule.

Qualified candidates have a High School Diploma or equivalent, basic computer skills, and are fluent in English. Prior manufacturing experience is a plus, with opportunities for career development and benefits.

• Must demonstrate the ability to safely lift up to 65 lbs on a repetitive basis.
• Preferred: 1 year manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Place safety first and operate the extrusion press efficiently.
• Ensure quality and quantity of material produced on the press.
• Monitor and operate the Log Furnace, Log Shear, Extrusion Press, and Puller System.
• Control the Extrusion Cooling Process and Handling System.
• Set up and monitor the extrusion press system on the computer.

Starting Rate of pay: $25.25/hour

Shift Premium: $1.00/hour extra for shift differential

Shifts Available and Hours:

12-hour continental night shift

7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

What you will be doing

• Place safety first.
• Responsible for the productive and efficient operation of the extrusion press.
• Responsible for Quality and Quantity of material being produced on the extrusion press.
• Responsible for monitoring and controlling the Log Furnace.
• Responsible for monitoring and operating the Log Shear.
• Responsible for monitoring and operating the Extrusion Press.
• Responsible for monitoring and operating the Extrusion Puller System.
• Responsible for the control of the Extrusion Cooling Process.
• Responsible for monitoring and operating the Extrusion Handling System.
• Responsible for the computer set-up and monitoring of the extrusion press system.
• Responsible for quality checks of the extruded material.
• Responsible for housekeeping around the press operation area.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Minimum of 1 Years of Manufacturing Experience desirable.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with AS400 system a plus
• Ability to communicate effectively with fluency in English; Good verbal communications skills a plus.
• Ability to work as a team.
• Adaptable to change.
• Ability to prioritize needs.
