Job summary

Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development seeks an Engineer 7 to lead the Preservation Program in District 03, Lafayette Parish. The role oversees the highway preservation program, design of construction plans, and coordination of dam safety, drainage, and surveying activities.

Required is a current Louisiana PE license with significant professional engineering experience. The position offers a competitive compensation package and reports to Engineer 8 (ADA-Engineering).

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Louisiana PE license or be eligible and able to obtain one.
• Experience managing district-wide preservation programs is preferred.
• Strong project management and regulatory compliance knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Administers the Districtwide highway preservation program, including scope, budget, design, delivery schedule, and performance.
• Oversees preparation of construction plans for pavement preservation and related projects at the District level.
• Provides oversight for dam safety inspections, drainage, flood control, surveying, and storm water co-permittee activities; coordinates with Parish and State Environmental Section.
• Manages consultant contracts for design of District Preservation projects and reviews final plans.
• Oversees districtwide surveying program and staff/contracted survey firms.
