Job summary

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) seeks an Engineer 7 – Pavement Preservation/Program Engineer in District 07 to lead the highway construction and preservation program at the district level.

Responsibilities include managing scope, budget, delivery schedules, QA/QC, and coordination with external agencies to ensure timely project delivery. A Louisiana professional engineering license and eligible experience are required with substitutions defined by policy.

Qualifications

• Current Louisiana license to practice professional engineering.
• Three years of licensed engineering experience; or seven years of professional engineering experience.
• Master's degree in engineering substitutes for one year of experience.
• Doctorate degree substitutes for two years of experience.
• Advanced degrees substitute for a maximum of two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the program including scope, budget, delivery schedule, and overall performance.
• Oversee the preparation of construction plans for pavement preservation, contract maintenance, safety and other related projects at the District level.
• Provide oversight and coordination for dam safety inspections, hydraulic studies, drainage, flood control, surveying, and storm water co-permittee activities.
• Coordinate permitting requirements, mitigation needs, and external agency commitments to support timely project delivery.
• Ensure appropriate QA/QC processes are applied to in-house and consultant deliverables prior to advertisement.
