Job summary

Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) seeks an Engineer 7 – Pavement Preservation/Program Engineer to lead district-level highway construction and preservation programs. Responsibilities include scope, budget, schedule, and performance for pavement projects.

Requires Louisiana PE license and substantial experience; appointments are open to DOTD employees and incumbents seeking a detail opportunity.

Qualifications

• Current Louisiana Professional Engineer license required.
• Experience substitutions: master's degree substitutes for up to 1 year; doctorate substitutes for up to 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the program including scope, budget, delivery schedule, and overall performance.
• Oversee preparation of construction plans for pavement preservation, contract maintenance, safety and related projects at the District level.
• Provide oversight for dam safety inspections, hydraulic studies, drainage, flood control, surveying, and storm water co-permittee activities.
• Coordinate permitting requirements, mitigation needs, and external agency commitments to support timely project delivery.
• Ensure quality assurance and quality control processes are applied to in-house and consultant deliverables prior to advertisement.
