Job summary

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development–District 58, Franklin Parish, seeks an Engineer 7 to administer the districtwide highway preservation program, oversee design plans, manage budgets, and coordinate water resources and survey activities.

This full-time role offers a SER of $57.84 hourly ($4,627.20 biweekly). Applicants must hold a Louisiana Professional Engineer license with minimum experience requirements, and licensure verification will be conducted before appointment.

Qualifications

• Louisiana PE license required.
• Three years of licensed engineering experience; or seven years of professional engineering experience.
• Advanced degrees can substitute for up to two years of experience; there is no substitution for licensed engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Program Delivery: Administers the Districtwide highway preservation program, managing scope, budget, design, delivery schedule and performance.
• Design/Plan and Specification Development: Oversees preparation of construction plans for pavement preservation, contract maintenance, safety and related projects at the District level.
• Water Resources: Provides oversight for dam safety inspections, hydraulic studies, drainage, flood control, surveying, and storm water co-permittee activities; coordinates with Parish and Environmental Section.
• Consultant Contract Administration: Manages consultant contracts for design of District Preservation projects, including scopes, fees, progress, invoices, and final plans review.
• Districtwide Survey Program Administration: Oversees survey program, managing in-house and contracted survey work.
