Job summary

City of Prescott's Recreation Services Department is seeking a motivated, creative and community-focused Recreation Coordinator to plan, coordinate and oversee a variety of recreational programs, classes and/or events.

This position helps deliver high-quality camps, programs and events that enhance the quality of life in the community by providing inclusive recreational opportunities for youth, adults, seniors and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred in Parks & Recreation or related field.
• Three years of experience coordinating programs, camps, classes or events for youth, adults and seniors.
• Passion for community program development and public engagement.

Responsibilities

• Create, plan, or organize and lead camps, community events, programs and recreational classes for youth, adults, seniors and families.
• Coordinate and oversee event logistics including facilities, equipment, permits, vendors and setup/teardown.
• Provide on-site supervision during events to ensure safety and high-level execution of events.
• Recruit and coordinate interns, volunteers, vendors, and staff as needed.
• Assist with program registration, attendance tracking, and basic reporting.
• Assist in the promotion of programs and events by creating flyers, social media posts, and newsletters.
• Ensure programs comply with department policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
• Respond to participant inquiries and provide excellent customer service to the community.
• Use Parks and Recreation best practices to develop evaluation tools for programs and events and use data to drive improvement.
• Work with the Recreation Supervisor to develop schedules and logistics.
• Coordinate and manage sports programs including field and facility scheduling.
• Track program/event supply inventory and order supplies as needed.
