Job summary

YMCA New Britain, PA is hiring a full-time Lead Teacher to inspire and guide early learners. Expect $18–$21 per hour, with opportunities to design engaging, developmentally appropriate activities and maintain student records.

  • Finding new and engaging ways to help kids learn
  • Being patient and kind with our parents
  • Designing age-appropriate lesson plans and activities
  • Cultivating and fostering a safe and nurturing environment that will encourage physical, emotional, and intellectual growth of children in the program
  • Maintaining required program records, including child files and portfolios
  • Adjusting curriculum to ensure that all children meet the learning objectives
  • Utilizing state and YMCA guidelines to ensure the safety and well being of the children

What is needed for this job
  • High school diploma, Associate/Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university in childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field preferred
  • Are 18+ and have 2+ years of experience working with children in a professional, volunteer, or familial capacity
  • Passionate about working with children in a fun, diverse environment
  • Ability to pass all relevant clearances
