Job summary

Washington Elementary School within Mesa Public Schools is seeking a part-time Preschool Instructional Assistant to support teachers in a special education setting. The role offers 29 hours per week with a base pay of $19.89 per hour, aligned to B21, 9.25 months.

The successful candidate will assist with 1:1 and small group instruction, data collection, classroom tasks, and daily living activities in accordance with IEP goals, with ASC/CPR training provided.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or 60 college credit hours required at time of hire or pass the ParaPro Test.
• 6 months experience with preschool children.
• Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: experience and record of effectiveness in similar roles.
• Ability and willingness to work with special education students.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; maintain confidentiality.
• Computer proficiency including basic Google platform usage.
• Organizational skills and ability to work with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 and small group instruction aligned to IEP goals.
• Assist in developing instructional materials and maintaining the classroom.
• Collect and monitor data related to academic and behavioral goals.
• Modify curriculum to meet individual learning needs.
• Support health and daily living activities and personal care as needed.
