Job summary

Robbinsdale Area Schools is seeking an Education Assistant for Early Learning Preschool at New Hope Learning Center. This part-time position (7.5 hours daily) includes seven paid hours and 30 minutes of unpaid lunch, with compensation at $24.03 per hour as per Class 3 of the current Education Assistant contract.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with young children.
• Positive attitude and growth mindset.
• Cultural awareness, gender fairness, and disability awareness.
• Physical stamina to lift up to 30 lbs and assist with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Able to attend work regularly and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support teachers in planning, preparation and presentation of curriculum.
• Assist in daily classroom preparations including planning, set-up and clean-up of children's learning environment.
• Foster a positive environment to support the academic, social and emotional development of all students.
• Engage and maintain positive relationships and interact with all children in the classroom.
• Support the classroom teacher(s) with keeping accurate records, collecting data, and maintaining other classroom systems.
• Provide for the health and safety of children by following program expectations and standards.
• Assist teacher(s) with guidance and supervision of children based on program expectations.
• Work as a team member with all staff.
• Honor all families with regard toward culture and diversity.
• Attend required staff development and staff meetings.
