Job summary

Willoughby-Eastlake City School District is seeking a Preschool Paraprofessional for Integrated Classroom. You will support students with daily activities, reinforce rules, and assist the teacher and substitutes throughout the day.

The role requires a one-year Educational Aide permit or equivalent, ParaPro assessment, or higher education credits (48 semester hours). Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work 7.5 hours daily, 9 months per year.

Qualifications

This role requires meeting Step-up to Quality and preschool licensing requirements, including a medical form and PD.
Ability to follow directions, reinforce class rules, and support teachers and students.
Good verbal and written communication; able to improvise under stress.

Responsibilities

Assist assigned students with physical tasks; must lift up to 50 pounds.
Reinforce classroom rules in teacher's absence and assist substitutes.
Support small groups with materials and academics introduced by the teacher.
Provide behavior management reinforcement and supervise student transitions.
accompany students to transportation; assist staff with field trips and classroom activities.
Serve as a resource for the student evaluation team as needed.
