Job summary

Northwest Suburban Special Education Organization is seeking a Classroom Aide to provide instructional and safety support for students. This role entails working directly under the supervision of licensed staff, assisting in various educational and daily living activities for students.

The ideal candidate should hold the required Educator License with Stipulations and have experience working with special needs students. The position is vital in maintaining a positive learning environment while ensuring student needs are met.

Qualifications

• Must meet state requirements for licensure as an Educator licensed for Paraprofessionals.
• Experience with childcare or special needs students preferred.
• Must be able to physically assist students as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and delivery of educational programs under supervision.
• Directly supervise students as directed by licensed staff member.
• Implement behavior management systems as established by the program.

Skills

Experience working with special needs students

Ability to read and write in English

Ability to lift students (30-80 pounds)

Ability to follow behavior management procedures
