Job summary

GLEAMNS Human Resources Commission, Incorporated seeks a driver to provide safe, reliable transportation for preschool children to Head Start centers and activities, following established routes and procedures. You will inspect vehicles daily, maintain cleanliness, and communicate rules to parents and staff.

The role requires a valid SC CDL with school bus endorsement (preferable) and a good driving record, with the ability to pass drug/alcohol testing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or a combination of education and experience commensurate with the job description.
• Minimum two years related working experience.
• A valid South Carolina Commercial Driver’s License with school bus endorsement is desirable and evidence of a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and staff to and from Head Start centers and other activities using established routes and procedures.
• Inspect assigned vehicle daily to ensure that it is in proper operating condition.
• Maintain assigned vehicle in a high state of cleanliness and safety.
• Respond to emergencies in prescribed manner.
• Submit reports on a timely basis.
• Follow rules of the Transportation Handbook as well as policies and procedures of GLEAMNS.
