Archdiocese of St. Louis is seeking a Preschool Aide to provide a safe, nurturing, faith-filled environment for preschool children before and after the regular school day.

The aide will supervise children, assist with age-appropriate activities, and support the Catholic mission in daily routines, prayers, and values within the extended care program. Ideal candidates are caring, dependable, patient, energetic, and comfortable collaborating with teachers and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with children in educational or religious settings.
• First aid/CPR certification preferred.
• Background check and Safe Environment Training required.
• Commitment to supporting the mission, teachings, and values of the Catholic Church and Catholic education.

Responsibilities

• Supervise preschool children attentively at all times.
• Maintain a warm, welcoming classroom environment.
• Supervise after-school play, arrivals, dismissals, and transitions.
• Assist with personal care: handwashing, toileting, snacks, and dressing.
• Keep a clean, organized, and safe learning space.
• Encourage positive social interactions and respectful behavior.
• Support integration of Catholic faith and values.
• Help children learn prayers and Christian virtues.
• Communicate respectfully with teachers, families, and staff.
• Follow school policies on safety, confidentiality, and health.
• Attend staff meetings or training as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
