Job summary

Brigham Young University’s Print and Mail shop seeks a part-time Digital Prepress Technician to support variable-data production and proofing. This role averages 28 hours per week in Provo, UT, and offers hands-on training in file preparation, imposition, and mailing workflows.

You will merge data, generate proofs, process address lists, and ensure print-ready files meet production standards, collaborating with client consultants to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• One year of data entry or office experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail for variable data output.
• Ability to follow documented workflows and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Variable Data Production: Merge variable data elements into production files per job specs.
• Generate digital proofs for customer approval.
• Submit approved jobs to print queues for production.
• Verify variable data output for accuracy and completeness before production.
• Process customer address lists using USPS presort software and mailing procedures.
• Prepare, format, and validate digital address lists for addressing.
