Job Description
- Experience Required: 1 to 3 years
- Experience Desired: Food Safety experience
- Education Desired: High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification or Licensing Required: Food Safety
- Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
- Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain food quality standards without variation; uphold high standards of food safety and sanitation; ensure all equipment is in good working order.
- Supervise prepared food team members to achieve maximum production and efficiency when the Prep Foods Team Leader/Manager is not present.
- Assist the Prepared Foods Team Leader/Manager in controlling operating expenses and achieving budgeted food and labor costs; understand P&L/LOB reports.
- Manage department team members by creating schedules, assigning work, and enforcing company policies.
- Support store promotions, sampling, and special events to increase profits. Be aware of competitors in the area.
- Organize and maintain all food storage areas according to health and safety standards, including labeling, cross-contamination prevention, and temperature control.
- Maintain accurate department records for audit reviews.
- Analyze Customer Satisfaction Surveys and Mystery Shopper reports to identify areas for improvement; work with the Team Leader/Manager to coach team members accordingly.
- Ensure procedures are followed to meet out-of-stock percentage goals.
- Promote continuous development of team members and identify candidates for Management Development Program.
- Prepare food for customers through cooking, frying, and grilling, including prep work such as chopping, dicing, and slicing.
- Read recipes and follow instructions accurately.
- Set up and maintain gourmet food displays throughout the day.
- Package, weigh, and display food for Grab and Go cases, routinely checking product dates.
- Engage in suggestive selling with product knowledge, including sampling for customers.
