Job Summary
As a Perishable Team Leader, you’ll provide leadership in the Fresh areas, including the Bakery, Deli, Prepared Foods, and Beer, Wine and Liquor. You’ll direct and manage Team Members to maintain fresh product offerings and supplies, and implement merchandising initiatives to stimulate business growth, all while providing excellent customer service. You will be a key support for customers and Team Members, fostering a friendly environment with a helpful hand and a smile!

Job Description

  • Experience Required: 1 to 3 years
  • Experience Desired: Prior retail leadership or supervisory experience; relevant product knowledge; satisfactory performance and disciplinary record
  • Education Desired: High school diploma or equivalent plus 18 months to 3 years of additional training
  • Certification or Licensing Required: Food Safety
  • Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds

Job Responsibilities

  • Interview, select, and train Team Members
  • Direct the work of Team Members
  • Appraise productivity and efficiency for promotions or changes in status
  • Handle issues including complaints and discipline
  • Plan and assign work
  • Ensure safety and security of Team Members and the store
  • Manage department or store budget and inventory
  • Monitor compliance measures
  • Oversee training to reduce turnover and promote efficiency
  • Lead with respect, set an example, and develop future leaders
  • Foster an inclusive, diverse environment
  • Prioritize safety for all
  • Inspire passion for food and customer service
  • Achieve sales and profit goals, manage shrink
  • Communicate effectively with team and merchandising
  • Suggest improvements and analyze reports to enhance performance
