Stone's Throw is seeking professional prep cooks to prepare food according to the chef's specifications and to set up stations for the menu. Responsibilities include assisting the executive and sous chefs with daily tasks, contributing to customer satisfaction, and maintaining high standards of food quality and safety.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • None

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies
  • Prepare food items such as chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and preparing sauces
  • Cook menu items in collaboration with kitchen staff
  • Follow instructions from executive or sous chef
  • Clean stations and manage leftovers
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels
  • Ensure timely and high-quality food service
  • Comply with nutrition, sanitation, and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude with coworkers and customers
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Strong understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment

Education And Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Culinary school diploma preferred
  • Valid Food Handlers Certificate
  • Previous experience as a line chef, restaurant cook, or prep cook preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Bend, squat, and lift up to 20 lbs
  • Work in varying noise levels
