Stone's Throw is seeking professional line cooks to prepare food according to the chef’s specifications and to set up stations for the menu. Responsibilities include assisting the executive and sous chefs with daily tasks, contributing to customer satisfaction. Located by the waterfront, our bar and restaurant offer a laid-back, nostalgic vibe where escape is just a stone's throw away.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities

• Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items
• Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Cooks to prepare meals during dining hours
• Maintain accurate food inventories
• Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures
• Rotate stock items as per procedures
• Restock kitchen for subsequent shifts
• Ensure the food prep area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitized throughout and after shifts
• Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies
• Comply with nutrition, sanitation, and safety standards
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude with coworkers and customers
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
• Accuracy and speed in task execution
• Knowledge of industry best practices

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED
• Culinary school diploma preferred
• Valid Food Handlers Certificate
• Previous experience as a line chef, restaurant cook, or prep cook preferred

Physical Requirements

• Stand for extended periods
• Bend, squat, and lift up to 20 lbs
• Work with varying noise levels
