Great Western Dining Service at Seward County Community College is seeking an ambitious Prep Cook/Server to assist in preparing delicious dishes. You will setup workstations, ingredients, and follow recipes to ensure efficient kitchen operations.

The ideal candidate will be quick, diligent, able to follow instructions, and comply with health and safety rules in a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as prep cook
• Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
• Team player with good communication skills
• Manual dexterity with kitchen tools
• Able to follow recipes and prep lists
• Physically able to stand/walk for long periods

Responsibilities

• Follow the prep list created by chefs to plan duties
• Label and stock ingredients on shelves for organization
• Measure ingredients and seasonings for cooking
• Prepare ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables and meats
• Undertake basic cooking duties like reducing sauces and parboiling
• Prepare simple dishes such as salads and entrees
• Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen and sanitize surfaces
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
• Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
