Job summary

Tatte Bakery & Cafe in Boston is seeking Prep Cooks who are passionate about food and hospitality. Our Back of House team prepares dishes from scratch with quality and craftsmanship while following standardized recipes and food safety standards.

As a Prep Cook, you will follow daily prep lists, label and stock ingredients, assist chefs, and maintain a clean, organized kitchen. We offer competitive pay, benefits, flexible schedules, meal discounts, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Desire to help and work as part of a team.
• Passion for cooking with freshness, quality, and cleanliness.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Previous experience in a fast-paced kitchen is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Follow daily prep lists created by the Chef or kitchen leadership.
• Label, organize, and stock all cooking ingredients.
• Complete assigned prep tasks accurately and efficiently.
• Wash, chop, sort, and prepare fruits, vegetables, meats, and other ingredients.
• Measure ingredients according to standardized recipes.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and nutrition standards.
• Monitor ingredient inventory and communicate replenishment needs.
• Learn and apply Tatte's cooking methods and techniques.
• Properly store food items and maintain organized storage areas.
• Monitor food and cooling room temperatures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen.
• Assist chefs with food preparation and other kitchen tasks as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
