Job summary

Tatte Bakery & Cafe in Boston, MA is seeking Prep Cooks who prepare dishes from scratch with a deep commitment to quality and craftsmanship. You’ll work as part of a team to uphold Tatte standards while maintaining food safety and sanitation.

Responsibilities include following prep lists, labeling and stocking ingredients, measuring seasonings, and keeping the kitchen clean and organized. Flexibility for weekends and evenings is required; prior kitchen experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow prep lists created by the Catering General Manager, Catering Sous Chef, and Supervisors.
• Label and stock all cooking ingredients.
• Complete all tasks on prep lists accurately and efficiently.
• Wash, chop, and sort ingredients including fruits, vegetables, and meats.
• Measure quantities of seasonings and cooking ingredients.
• Adhere to all nutrition, food safety, and sanitation standards.
• Monitor ingredient inventory and communicate restocking needs.
• Learn and execute cooking methods and techniques used within the kitchen.
• Ensure all food items are properly stored and easily accessible.
• Monitor food and cooling room temperatures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized kitchen.
• Assist chefs with food preparation and additional culinary tasks as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
